Nice Place and a Resonable Price

Overall this apartment unit is a good value and in a good location. Being on the East Coast makes it convenient to attractions all around the island. The apartment unit is clean and has lots of extras like beach umbrella, beach chairs, and a small cooler. The kitchen is old and needs to be updated but it is well stocked and has just about any kitchen appliance you would need. My wife and I were there 2 weeks. They only offer housekeeping service if you stay over 3 weeks. A weekly housekeeping service would be nice but they only offer that for a fee. The property is listed as ocean view. THERE IS NO OCEAN VIEW. The only view is of a tall construction wall between the unit and the ocean. The AC unit in the living room is very loud. You have to turn the volume of the TV up to hear it over the AC - probably to a volume that the neighbors upstairs can hear what program you are watching. Speaking of the neighbors upstairs...if they are heavy walkers, you will hear them in J8.

We loved staying in the room! Perfect waking distance to the beach and multiple restaurants in the same center. The room was clean, had lots of towels and linens too! Everything worked perfectly, including the AC, coffee maker, fridge TVs! We absolutely loved staying here as well as this beautiful island. If we make the trip to kauai again, we will be back here for sure! You must stay here!!


Not bad for the money

This condo is one of many we have rented in the last ten years. The two negatives of this condo were 1)very noisy A/C and 2)Uncomfortable sofa bed with holes in the sheets. We were aware that the dust fence would block our distant ocean view. We would have loved to have an easy chair since we had three people staying at the condo. We had to all sit on the sofa to be comfortable and it isn't a large sofa. The location is great and the pools were rarely crowded. the pool rules against eating and drinking are strictly enforced and it isn't fun to have to step outside of the fence to have a soda or much a few grapes. The BBQ area is directly on the opposite side of the fence so I don't quite understand the restriction. The new cable system was a pain the entire visit with repeated disconnections of service. Many people on the island seemed to be having problems with the change to Spectrum.

Convenient and central to family and all the activities we wanted to do. Perfect for a couple or small family. Only half of my family came so it was interesting having four of us share one bathroom when we were use to having multiple ones. Kitchen was adequate and had everything we needed, even a rice cooker! Within walking distance to stores, beach, and bike path. I would definitely stay here again. Only problem we encountered was our key card malfunctioned twice while we were there. Maintenance was able to fix it quickly the first time. The second time was our final night there. Maintenance had left for the day. It didn't matter since we didn't plan to go anywhere that evening anyway. They could fix it after we checked out. Had a view of the roadway and construction wall across the street, but having a ground floor was a plus. Laundry room part of each building so if the one connected to your building was full the next one wasn't that far away. 1.50 for wash, 1.00 for dry. Well worth the price. Thanks for everything!

We enjoyed our stay at this condo. Had everything we needed and was central to everything we wanted to see and do. We had previously stayed in one of the condos rented by Garden Island Properties, and knew that they were a very good company to rent from, and that we would have no problem if any issues came up during our visit. But everything was great, check in and check out couldn’t have been easier, and the condo was well equipped with everything we would need. Will definitely rent from them on any future visits! Aloha!

An adequate middle-of-the-road rental unit in a good location. Could use a good deep cleaning. A reasonable value on this expensive island.Pros: Good location. Roomy. Convenient gate built into the lanai railing and an outdoor shower for rinsing off just outside the lanai. Stores and shops nearby. Decently equipped kitchen. Appreciated the beach chairs and umbrella. Ample towel supply. Short walk to an interesting beach. Mattress was okay. First aid kit in the bathroom.Cons: The unit could use a deep clean - dust on the irregularly textured walls, something blue and cleanable on the shower wall below the faucet, short bits of hair, maybe from shaving, embedded in the inside shower curtain. Wood-look floors could be cleaner. The bedsheets were some slippery polyester-y material and pulled up from the edges so there was a pile of wrinkles in the middle of the bed. Decor was tired - the guest book had a two-year-old comment about renovations but the unit didn't look like it had been renovated that recently. Right next to a street but it wasn't too busy and almost no traffic at night.

Perfect rental property! Kapaa was the perfect location on Kauai! This condo overall was very clean. The staff was great. The condo had all the extras (beach chairs, cooler, umbrella, extra pillows & blankets, soft sheets & comforter, hair dryer, toys, books, night lights, spices, cooking oils, plenty of pans, dishes, & tupeware) Even though the AC was located in the living room, there was a vent shooting air right from the AC into the BR which actually made the bedroom the coldest! We never used any of the pools or hot tubs because we were out adventuring all day and by the time we got "home" it was closed. (10pm) Everything closes early on the island and even the people staying at the condo turned in early. There was never any noise late at night or early in the morning, or really ever! Definitely go to the Farmer's market next door at Coconut Marketplace Tues & Thurs 8-12. We found the best souvenirs at the ABC store at Coconut Marketplace too. This was our first time in Hawaii (9 days) and when we come back we will definitely be staying here again, but for longer!

We thoroughly enjoyed our 8 day stay in Kauai. The property description was very accurate and our stay at the Plantation Hale Suite was everything we had hoped it would be. It was clean and well stocked with all the supplies one would need. We loved the central location to other attractions on the island. Walking distance to great restaurants and grocery stores. Beautifully maintained property, pools and grounds. We would highly recommend this place to others considering a great Kauai location.

Reservation, confirmation, check-in and check-out processes were easy and professional. Location of the property and the unit were ideal; close to beach access and town amenities, and not directly on main road (foliage barriers).The furniture was set exactly as photos, and stocked with most basic amenities for a short convenient stay. For my 3-week stay, however, many of the items ran out or low (toilet paper, paper towels, garbage can liners, foil, plastic wrap, etc.) and I purchased to restock. In addition, there weren't sufficient cleaning supplies available (access) to maintain and a large additional fee was required to have someone to come in weekly, so I ended up purchasing cleaning supplies, as well.Crystal at the front desk was exceptional; friendly, professional, efficient, and generous with her knowledge and experiences. Marilyn at the activity center was also phenomenally helpful and pleasant, though currently she's traveling and no longer there.Used the garbage and recycling, and parking daily; used the pools and hot tubs several times a week; and, the bbq grill once. All were good, with the exception of the garbage container being locked twice and over rowdy guests (unsupervised kids) in a pool area a few times. Grounds were constantly maintained and beautifully landscaped.Overall, it was a very pleasant experience and I would consider returning and recommending to others.

Overall this apartment unit is a good value and in a good location. Being on the East Coast makes it convenient to attractions all around the island.

The apartment unit is clean and has lots of extras like beach umbrella, beach chairs, and a small cooler. The kitchen is old and needs to be updated but it is well stocked and has just about any kitchen appliance you would need. My wife and I were there 2 weeks. They only offer housekeeping service if you stay over 3 weeks. A weekly housekeeping service would be nice but they only offer that for a fee.

The property is listed as ocean view. THERE IS NO OCEAN VIEW. The only view is of a tall construction wall between the unit and the ocean. The AC unit in the living room is very loud. You have to turn the volume of the TV up to hear it over the AC - probably to a volume that the neighbors upstairs can hear what program you are watching. Speaking of the neighbors upstairs...if they are heavy walkers, you will hear them in J8. The two negatives of this condo were 1)very noisy A/C and 2)Uncomfortable sofa bed with holes in the sheets. We were aware that the dust fence would block our distant ocean view. We would have loved to have an easy chair since we had three people staying at the condo. We had to all sit on the sofa to be comfortable and it isn't a large sofa. The location is great and the pools were rarely crowded. the pool rules against eating and drinking are strictly enforced and it isn't fun to have to step outside of the fence to have a soda or much a few grapes. The BBQ area is directly on the opposite side of the fence so I don't quite understand the restriction. The new cable system was a pain the entire visit with repeated disconnections of service. Within walking distance to stores, beach, and bike path. I would definitely stay here again. Only problem we encountered was our key card malfunctioned twice while we were there. Maintenance was able to fix it quickly the first time. The second time was our final night there. Maintenance had left for the day. It didn't matter since we didn't plan to go anywhere that evening anyway. They could fix it after we checked out. Had a view of the roadway and construction wall across the street, but having a ground floor was a plus. Pros: Good location. Roomy. Convenient gate built into the lanai railing and an outdoor shower for rinsing off just outside the lanai. Stores and shops nearby. Decently equipped kitchen. Appreciated the beach chairs and umbrella. Ample towel supply. Short walk to an interesting beach. Mattress was okay. First aid kit in the bathroom.
Cons: The unit could use a deep clean - dust on the irregularly textured walls, something blue and cleanable on the shower wall below the faucet, short bits of hair, maybe from shaving, embedded in the inside shower curtain. Wood-look floors could be cleaner. The bedsheets were some slippery polyester-y material and pulled up from the edges so there was a pile of wrinkles in the middle of the bed. Decor was tired - the guest book had a two-year-old comment about renovations but the unit didn't look like it had been renovated that recently. Right next to a street but it wasn't too busy and almost no traffic at night.

Location of the property and the unit were ideal; close to beach access and town amenities, and not directly on main road (foliage barriers).
The furniture was set exactly as photos, and stocked with most basic amenities for a short convenient stay. For my 3-week stay, however, many of the items ran out or low (toilet paper, paper towels, garbage can liners, foil, plastic wrap, etc.) and I purchased to restock. In addition, there weren't sufficient cleaning supplies available (access) to maintain and a large additional fee was required to have someone to come in weekly, so I ended up purchasing cleaning supplies, as well.
Crystal at the front desk was exceptional; friendly, professional, efficient, and generous with her knowledge and experiences. Marilyn at the activity center was also phenomenally helpful and pleasant, though currently she's traveling and no longer there.
Used the garbage and recycling, and parking daily; used the pools and hot tubs several times a week; and, the bbq grill once. All were good, with the exception of the garbage container being locked twice and over rowdy guests (unsupervised kids) in a pool area a few times. Grounds were constantly maintained and beautifully landscaped.
